Fishbein Group strives to improve the quality of life in our local community. Dr. Joey Fishbein, the newest addition to our Fishbein Orthodontics team, wanted to make a splash by supporting our Northwest Florida community through a passion of his: music. And students throughout Escambia county couldn’t be happier with the gift of exotic instruments to enhance their music education. Read more about his contribution here or below.

It was Christmas all over again for hundreds of Escambia County music students.

Music teachers throughout the school district picked up 165 brand new exotic instruments Tuesday.

They included a tropical rain stick, a guiro and a cabasa.

The instruments were gifted to the schools through a grant from Pensacola’s Fishbein Orthodontics Office.

“Dr. Joey Fishbein, who is our most recent doctor to join the practice and he has a background in music education, so this was a mission that was near and dear to his heart. He saw the enrichment that it plays in every child’s life so he wanted to be able to give back that way,” said Lori Harris.

“When you talk about an instrument from Latin America it’s one thing, but when you can put it in their hands and they actually have a chance to see it and how it works and get to hear it first hand, it leaves a lasting impression,” said music teacher at L.D. McArthur Elementary School Barbara Guarino.

Last year Fishbein Orthodontics donated water bottles to students in Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties after water fountain usage was restricted in schools due to the pandemic.

Fishbein Orthodontics received a special discount from Blue Angels Music of Pensacola for the donated instruments.
